We have a new plane!

The Club has just finalized the purchase of a 1977 Rockwell Commander 114, N2299B, which will replace the venerable N9090B Archer II. We are now the only flying club in the world with a Commander 114 in the fleet!

The Commander 114 is a high-performance, retractable-gear, 4-place aircraft with a long-standing reputation for being fast, comfortable, good-looking, and fun to fly. The 114 cruises at 150 knots with a range of 600 miles. As with all EFC aircraft, N2299B is well-equipped; fully IFR-capable with color GPS and a two-axis autopilot. Although the per-hour rate will be higher than for the Archers, we expect that the per-mile cost of flying the Commander will be roughly the same.

Our new Commander is intended for experienced pilots with high-performance and complex aircraft ratings. Our Club instructors are available to train members to fly the new aircraft. Specific requirements will be published in an upcoming revision to the Club operating rules.
